Natasha Liu

Natasha Liu holds a Master's degree with distinction from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama Uk and is also an alumnus of several colleges in Japan and Denmark. Having won several awards, she performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia and has played with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Some highlights include a performance for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show televised on UK ITV, a recital at St Marks Cathedral Venice and a performance for Singapore Season in London.

A versatile musician, Natasha’s music career has taken her from orchestra playing, to concert soloist, chamber musician, cello educator, adjudicator and artistic director. 

Since returning to Singapore, Natasha appeared in the inaugural President's Command Performance and the National Day Parade. As a soloist, she was featured in a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme accompanied by the NUS Symphony Orchestra. She also held a solo concert for the Esplanade’s Spectrum series, where she showcased contemporary Australian works for the cello using a unique digital delay system. 

An avid promoter of arts and culture, Natasha is a ‘Spotlight Singapore’ veteran who has been invited by the late Iskanda Ismail to perform in Moscow, Cape Town, Bratislava and Prague and Mexico. She contributes actively to the chamber music scene as a member of I-Sis Trio, a unique combination of harp, violin and the cello, that has performed in Asia, Australia and Canada.

Natasha’s collection of albums include  "Moments" with Katryna Tan on harp, "Passion" with I-Sis Trio and several other albums with Rhymoi Music Label.

Currently, a cello teacher in the Music Department of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, School of Young Talents, Natasha also founded the Voice of the Cello. Students under her tutelage have achieved remarkable results in both local and international music competitions, awarded the ABRSM Global High Scorers as well as gaining admission into world-renowned music conservatories and universities.
